Mikki Zip never remembers not performing, even if it was just "putting on a show" for her family in Central New York, where she lived till she was 13. She started dance lessons at 2 years old, sang on stage by 3, and was in her first musical on a "big stage" with the Syracuse Civic Theatre at 5. Mikki and her family moved to Nashville, TN just days before she started high school. She was heavily involved in musical theatre and choir, becoming President of the International Thespians Society, Chamber Choir and an Acapella Group. Mikki also became an ambassador for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Middle TN at her school, creating and organizing fundraisers such as a local talent show for the community and a penny drive at the high school. While juggling time with theater in school and in the community, as a singer-songwriter, she also played acoustic gigs around Middle TN. Mikki left Tennessee in 2018 to attend The American Musical and Dramatic Academy (AMDA), studying in both LA and NYC. Accelerating through her academics, Mikki graduated with her BFA in May of 2020. Shortly after, she returned to Nashville to continue her career as a recording artist, as well as taking on the TV/Film industry. Mikki has recently played the New York State Fair, venues in Orlando, FL and Kentucky, along with many local honky tonks in the Nashville area. She is always excited to see what the next stages in life may bring and what exciting new opportunities are on the horizon!
